The Brief;
A bike to be used for bike packing adventures and commuting to work, room to strap on a frame bag, saddle bag, and handlebar roll. And it must be comfortable for all day riding.
The Build;
Based on the brief we discussed a few options and decided to base the bike around 650b wheels with 2.1” tyres for bike packing adventures and 48mm tyres for commuting. The bike was built with a dynamo hub in mind and a Sram 1x Rival group-set.
Walters history and body proportions lent themselves well to a custom frame. A tall stack and short reach meant he has always been in-between sizes on regular off the shelf bikes. Taking all this into account I was able to make a bike that has no toe overlap (something he experienced on other bikes) and performed flawlessly on his latest 3 day bike trip.
